Chapel Hill Center Based ABA Therapy

There are many benefits to receiving therapy in a center setting, including a predictable, structured environment that is designed to encourage the learning of new skills. We are able to minimize or remove distractions in the environment and provide a wide range of activities and items to encourage learning. Center based therapy also allows for more frequent, consistent, and structured social interactions with other children, with the support of trained professionals. Whether we are targeting basic social interactions or working on building a long-term friendship, these social skills are perfect for a center setting.

What can you find in the behavior plan?

The behavior plan will be unique and responsive to your child’s needs so they can enjoy meaningful day-to-day interactions and an encouraging path forward. Applied Behavior Analysis is recognized as the most effective form of autism treatment, in part because of its versatility. We will assess your child across a number of domains, meet them where they are at, and build from there!

What to expect

The steps to getting started are simple and we will support you every step of the way.

Step 1: Our intake care team will share with you what you need to gather in order to get started and help you complete the required paperwork

Step 2: Our team will handle Insurance verification and authorization for services

Step 3: A Board Certified Behavior Analyst will reach out to you to schedule your comprehensive assessment

Step 4: Your assessment report will be forwarded to your insurance provider for approval

Step 5: Your child’s treatment journey begins

The first goal of Applied Behavior Analysis is to listen and learn. Our process starts with understanding the strengths and needs of the individual and their caregivers. We don’t aim to change the person or any of their functional traits and characteristics. We celebrate neurodiversity. We work with caregivers to identify skills that are functional, significant, and meaningful.  Applied Behavior Analysis can rightfully be viewed as skill building! This type of therapy can assist with increasing communication skills, as well as improving attention, social skills, and academics. We can teach a variety of adaptive skills such as vocational competences, social interactions, hygiene and motor abilities.
